A search for 'black suede bag' brought me to this purse. This brand is known for their evening bags/clutches but I liked how the suede grommet strap turned Whiting & Davis' signature glitz style into a more edgy daytime look.

Upon arrival I was a bit bummed that Amazon's listed dimensions proved wishfully generous. This bag is NOT 12X9. No need for a tape measure as I placed a standard 8.5 X 11 piece of paper over it and the bag disappeared. Oh well. Even though it's much smaller than anticipated, it's well constructed, will still hold the bare essentials, and it definitely doesn't look like every other handbag on the market.

The strap set up could be initially confusing, but the horeshoe-shaped rings just pop open by aid of a pin lock. Once you've mastered that, the bag goes from messenger to shoulder-length in a snap. Personally, I think it looks odd as a shoulder bag, but it's a cool option to have.

The construction is quality--nice heavy duty hardware, quality grommet work, well stitched, decent zipper pull, soft lining. The mesh-like pouch is very soft snd flexible--no snagging due to roughness or inconsistency. There is a bit of a heft to the piece so if you have a nagging chiropractor, do know that it's not the lightest weight bag out there. Compared to a few 2lb Linea Pelles I own, this is a walk in the park. But the strap hardware does add ounces! The pouch itself is feather light.

This is a keeper for any girl wanting a bit of rock n roll style. The small size makes it less than practical for those who need to carry more than a wallet, phone, lipstick, and keys. (I can barely shove my small makeup case inside). And yet it's really too big for the club. But Amazon's discounted price point and quality materials/craftsmanship have me eyeballing the other colors. It's such a fun piece!

One star withheld due to it being a bit too small for day but a bit too large for night and the fact that, especially if you pay retail for this, it should come with a duster bag. This did not. A small instruction card for the adjustable strap, though not entirely neccessary, might have been nice too.
