I received this satchel two days ago. In addition to the clear plastic bag, the satchel was carefully taped down and covered in wrapping paper. All hardware was well protected as well. Inside the inner pocket there was a black dust bag and a small black card with product number that authenticate the bag.

The leather itself was of very fine quality. It was smooth and supple without any strong smell. The stitching was also even and detailed. There was some structure to this bag, but not too rigid. It can definitely stand on the floor on its own. I am 5'2, and the shoulder strap was just right for my height.

At the bottom of the bag I received, there was a fingernail-sized area that seem to have lighter dye comparing to the rest. This was quite noticeable. It was not scuffing as the surface of the leather itself was intact. It simply looked like that small part of the bag was not dyed with the same saturation as the rest of the bag. I am not familiar with Botkier enough to say whether or not this is a representation of the quality of their bags in general,I merely wanted to point out the imperfection in case it matters to some people.

Overall, I really like this bag. It feels sturdy and vibrant, and is a joy to carry around.
