Product Description
This is a "summerweight" version of our popular gold weave uniform. Solid black, this kimono has a Jiu-Jitsu cut with the heavy collar and heavily reinforced pants.It was specifically designed to withstand the most intense grappling during training and competition. Seams are reinforced - especially in the shoulders, lapel and sleeves. It also has reinforcements (double thickness) in the underarms, jacket split and pants drawstring openings. The entire front knees have double thickness material all the way to the ankle and the pants have a cotton cord rather than material for the drawstring. This gi will last for YEARS.
This is DEFINITELY NOT intended for beginning students and we'd suggest you consider a "single weave" or light weight gi before investing in one of these. This uniform does NOT comes with a belt (if you're getting this, we kind of assume you already have one).
It is made of 100% 475g cotton and includes 10 oz drill cotton pants with a traditional drawstring waist (a belt is not included - you should already have one if you're getting this uniform).
We created this variation of our "heavy" gold weave uniform specifically for people that want something that's a little lighter but still the same great comfort of the gold weave uniform. These are especially for people training in hotter or more humid environments.
This kimono has no patches on the outside. Nothing to take off if you "just want a kimono".

First, I have to say that as usual the customer service from Piranha Gear is so far ahead of the competition I can't say enough about it. They just go that extra bit to make sure they put a personal touch on each order.Second, this Gi is exactly what I was hoping for. The cut is PERFECT and the material is a great combination of light/strong/soft. In my experience with gold weave they tend too shrink a lot "when washed in hot water and dried in the dryer on high like I do" so I purposely ordered one size larger than my normal and after shrinking its my best fitting Gi. My A-3 now fits like a normal A-2 would if always washed in cold and line dried .
